Lewens' acrylic and polyester fabrics are solution-dyed to ensure that the vibrant or delicate colours of your awning fabric retain their brilliance for many years to come.

Solution dyeing

In solution dyeing, the colour pigments are introduced into the individual fibres during the production process. The coloured fibres are then spun to form a fully dyed yarn. Awning fabrics made from such yarns remain colour-fast over a long period and retain their bright colours. Lewens uses only solution-dyed acrylic and polyester fabrics.

Retrospective dyeing

When yarns or bales are dyed retrospectively, the colours fade faster as they only adhere to the surface of the material
