Lewens is a winner of the iF DESIGN AWARD 2021

Lewens is a winner of this year’s iF DESIGN AWARD and is thus one of the recipients of the globally renowned design label.

The Micro 2020 vertical awning was recognised for Product Design in the Garden category. The iF DESIGN AWARD competition is organised once a year by the world’s oldest independent design institution, iF International Forum Design GmbH in Hannover. The Micro 2020 vertical awning impressed the jury of 98 independent international experts with its innovative functionality, outstanding design and particular ease of use. A large number of applicants were registered and the jurors had to choose a winner of the coveted quality seal from nearly 10 000 submissions from 52 countries.

New vertical awning for glass roofs

Specially developed for areas under glass roofs and conservatories or for panoramic windows, the Micro 2020 Z vertical screen awning is now included in the product portfolio. With dimensions of up to 6 metres in width and 2.70 metres high, the Micro 2020 Z perfectly complements the glass roofs in the Murano series from Lewens. The awning can be mounted optionally here from inside on the gutter or purlin and posts, so that only the fabric is visible from outside. Alternatively, the Micro 2020 Z can be inserted flush into the opening. Assembly is incredibly simple: there are specially developed support profiles that latch easily onto the glass roof. The patented balancing spring technology and zip guide ensure perfect tensioning of the fabric on this model, while glass fibre screen fabric combines privacy with shade from the sun while affording a view outwards.
